Dear fellow boater: The next boating season is upon us… The Board of Directors is anxious to get things moving again. We, at PCYC were pleased to have you as fellow boater in the past and we hope that you will choose to join us again this summer. In a attempt to plan for the summer, it is imperative to know the approximate number of boats that are intended to be docked at PCYC (regular members and seasonal rentals). While shareholders own a berth, seasonal renters are assigned a berth on a first come first serve basis depending on availability of docking spaces and the size of boats. The rule is that the length of a boat cannot exceed the length of the dock on which it is berthed by more than 10 feet. While attempting to meet boaters request, the Manager determines where each boat can best be located in the marina. Please be advised that at its meeting of November 22, 2009, the Board of Directors passed the following motion: "that a letter be sent after the AGM to potential seasonal renters requesting a non refundable 50% deposit (by a specific date to be determined) should they wish to retain a berth at PCYC for the season. The balance is payable before or on launching day". The current Board established May 10, 2008 as the date by which you should file your request. Enclosed please find the 2008 Dues and Fees Schedule adopted by the shareholders at the AGM on March 30, 2008. Currently there are only five (5) berths / shares for sale, namely : three – 20 ft. berth (Class B share) and two – 25 ft. berth (Class A share). Should you consider purchasing a share in the Corporation, an application form is enclosed. However please note that such an application is subject to the approval by the Board of Directors. We also wish to inform you that the rental fees for a berth can be used towards the purchase of a berth, if a berth is purchased in the same year as the rental. At any time during the year, the renter can buy a berth (if one is available) by applying the rental fee towards the maintenance fees. There is no carryover from one year to the next. This option is only available for that operating year up to Nov. 31 of that year. For example, if a renter has paid $1,675 and decides to purchase a Class A share, the boating fee becomes $1,001 (member's boating fee) and the difference of $674 can be applied towards the purchase, i.e. $5200 - $674 = $4526 + 250.00 transfer fee = $4776. The intent of this letter is therefore to establish whether you want to launch your boat /personal water craft at PCYC for the coming season. Your name will be added to the list as per the date of reply. Would you therefore send your reply to : Pointe du Chêne Yacht Club Att.: Walter Wojcicki, PCYC Manager 25 Pointe du Chêne Wharf Road Pointe du Chêne, NB E4P 4V7 Please make your cheque payable to: Pointe du Chêne Yacht Club. Please specify the length of the berth you wish to rent (20, 25, or 35 ft. dock) Would you also specify the type of boat (power or sail), the length, beam and draft of your boat. We would also like to ask you to read these reminders Looking forward to seeing you at the Yacht Club. Camille R. Martin Recording Secretary (PCYC) |
